It all started with a why.....

Specifically, why don't I ever have anything to wear?

A quick glance at my wardrobe and chest of drawers you'd be forgiven for calling me a liar, but the truth is despite all these clothes I never have anything to wear. The problem is my size fluctuates between a size 8 and 12 so something that might fit me one day, the next day probably won't ~ does this resonate, or is it just me? On top of this, the garment that fits is patterned but I wanted something plain, or it's summer weight and it's the middle of winter and on the problem goes. What to do? I need garments that adapt to me, not me trying to 'shoehorn' myself into general sizings. I need garments that are reversible so I can have two wearable options and are adaptable so that I can wear them whatever the season and most importantly are sustainable ~ and so Beautiful Benevolence was born - beautiful, sustainable clothing that loves our planet

My name is Cathy and I have been sewing ever since I was a little girl and I am passionate about designing sustainable clothing that supports British Manufacturers. Along with my bestie and business partner Liz, we founded Beautiful Benevolence and Beautiful Bandanas and are committed to producing high quality sustainable clothing that reduces the number of garments you need. All our clothing is designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom using natural materials and UK manufacturers where possible.
