We designed GRACE as a piece that could move gently through your wardrobe and adapt to different moments in your life. Rather than creating something seasonal or trend-driven, we wanted to create a scarf that feels timeless and easy to wear.
The scarf is made from Liberty Tana Lawn cotton, a beautiful fabric known for its softness, lightness and durability. Liberty fabrics have been loved for generations, and their delicate prints bring a quiet elegance to everyday clothing.
Because Liberty Tana Lawn is made from natural cotton fibres, the GRACE scarf is breathable, comfortable and naturally biodegradable. Choosing natural fibres instead of synthetic materials helps reduce microplastic pollution and supports a more sustainable approach to fashion.
A Liberty Tana Lawn Scarf Designed to Be Adaptable
We designed the GRACE scarf in a triangular shape so it could be worn in many different ways.
A good scarf should feel adaptable rather than complicated. It should work with the clothes you already own and move easily through your day.
The triangular design allows GRACE to be worn:
• tied softly around the neck
• draped with the V at the front or the back
• styled as a headscarf or hairband
• wrapped gently for warmth in cooler weather

Designing with Sustainability in Mind
When we design at Beautiful Benevolence, we try to consider every stage of a garment’s life.
Many fashion accessories today are made from synthetic fibres such as polyester or nylon. These materials are derived from petroleum and can take decades or even centuries to break down. As they age, they may also shed microplastics into the environment.
We wanted the GRACE scarf to offer a different approach.
By choosing Liberty Tana Lawn cotton, we use a natural fibre that is breathable, durable and biodegradable. Natural fabrics help reduce the long-term environmental impact often associated with synthetic materials.
However, sustainability does not stop with the fabric choice.
It also requires careful attention to how materials are used during the design and production process.
From GRACE to ZOE: A Zero-Waste Idea
While creating the GRACE scarf, we noticed something important.
After cutting the scarf shape from the Liberty fabric, two slightly smaller pieces of fabric remained. These pieces were far too beautiful to discard.
Rather than allowing them to become waste, we began to ask a simple question:
Could these remaining pieces become something new?
That question led to the creation of the ZOE scarf.
Introducing the ZOE Scarf
The ZOE Scarf stands for:
Zero-waste
Eco-friendly
ZOE is made entirely from the remaining Liberty fabric pieces left after cutting the GRACE scarf. By carefully joining these pieces together, we create a second scarf that uses the fabric thoughtfully.
The ZOE scarf has a similar triangular shape but is slightly smaller than GRACE. It also features a delicate centre seam, which quietly tells the story of its zero-waste design.
This seam is not something to hide. Instead, it represents creativity and care in the design process.
In a world where large amounts of fabric are often discarded during garment production, finding ways to use every possible piece of material can make a meaningful difference.
